Robert W. Bonynge

Robert William Bonynge (September 8, 1863 – September 22, 1939) was a U.S. Representative from Colorado.
Born in New York City, Bonynge attended public schools.
He graduated from the College of the City of New York in 1882 and from Columbia Law School, New York City, in 1885.
He was admitted to the bar in 1885 and began to practice in New York City.
He moved to Denver, Colorado, in 1888 and continued the practice of law.
He served as member of the New York State House of Representatives in 1893 and 1894.
He was an unsuccessful candidate for election in 1900 to the Fifty-seventh Congress.
Contested the election to the Fifty-eighth Congress of John F. Shafroth, who in an address before the House of Representatives conceded his defeat and withdrew from the contest.
He was reelected as a Republican to the Fifty-ninth and Sixtieth Congresses and served from February 16, 1904, until March 3, 1909.
He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1908 to the Sixty-first Congress.
He served as member of the National Monetary Commission 1908-1912.
He resumed the practice of law in Denver, Colorado.
He moved to New York City in November 1912 and continued the practice of law.
Chief counsel of the New York State Industrial Commission 1916-1918.
He was appointed United States agent before the Mixed Claims Commission (United States and Germany) in 1923 and before the Tripartite Claims Commission (United States, Austria, and Hungary) in 1927.
He died in New York City, September 22, 1939.
He was interred in Woodlawn Cemetery.
